POOL SAFETY, HEAT & CLEANING

POOL SAFETY

A safety fence and pool door alarm must be always used. The house is required by law to have multiple child safety pool systems in use. We have a mandatory door alarm, a secondary patio door lock a couple of feet above the patio handle, and a safety fence around the pool.

POOL & HOT TUB HEAT & OPERATION

Daytime pool heating is included with your stay. Every morning it comes on and will begin to heat toward a target 86 degrees. Note: Disney’s pools are only heated to 84 degrees.

To turn on the hot tub, turn the dial by the side patio door and then wait for 20 minutes or more, depending on air temperature, for it to warm up. Please note that when the hot tub is turned on, heat is diverted away from the main pool to the hot tub.

Please understand that it is not possible to guarantee the temperature of the pool which is dependent on the local weather. Guests should note that electrically heated pumps will warm a pool on a Florida pool home to the operating temperature of 75-84 degrees Fahrenheit in 24-48 hours depending upon the ambient air temperature. Electrical pool heaters utilize a heat exchange pump. If the outside temperature at your vacation home drops below 70 degrees Fahrenheit overnight, then the pool heater will not operate effectively, and the pool may not heat to the maximum 86°F.

Also note that pool heat cannot be guaranteed as sometimes mechanical devices fail or environmental factors will not allow the pools to be heated. Guests must notify the owner of failure of pool heat on the day of occurrence, so that the temperature or the equipment can be checked by personnel. Owners will do their best to keep it operational. However, they cannot guarantee its operation all or any of the time of occupancy. Renter(s) should inspect on arrival.

The community pool and hot tub, which are 1 block away, are gas heated so they will be warm all day and year round.

POOL CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

The pool and hot tub are professionally cleaned, typically on Tuesdays. Dirt and debris will find its way in there during the week. We have a tree that overhangs the pool screen and provides shade on hot Florida afternoons. A cleaning net and brush are provided for you to clean up leaves and debris from the pool before swimming on a daily basis.

The pool cleaners may place the hose into the pool to increase the water level. The hose runs on a timer, and once the timer expires, you are welcome to put the hose away
